Nursing is...

I've been keeping a running list of what nursing is to me. So this is nursing at BYU-Idaho:

Nursing is...

Not showering for 2 days
Falling asleep in a study group in two minutes flat when your study partner gets up to go to the bathroom
Having better relationships with the mannequins than with real people
Being excited that your patient is passing flatus
Going to bed at 1 AM and waking up at 4 AM for clinical
Doing hard things
Not showering for 3 days
Forgetting that other people attend school at BYU-I because you've been in the Clarke dungeon all day
Getting excited about 70% on a test
Talking about inappropriate things in class but it's acceptable
Setting up lemonade stand to get 20 vitals taken
Diagnosing all your friends
Diagnosing yourself with everything you just studied in class
Wondering if you are actually crazy
Not showering for 4 days
Free Cookie Fridays!
Does anybody have a pen light?
Not remembering what sleep really means
Having a heart attack when someone mentions competency
Making the best friends that you know everything about because you spend every waking minute with them
Having a running tab at the testing center
Asking "What did you get on the test?", "Was it hard?", "What did you study?"
Sleeping whenever and wherever you can
"I believe that you believe"
Not showering for 5 days
Seeing each other at our worst and still loving each other
Still not knowing how to open the ancient mailboxes in the computer lab
10 finals in one week
Daily dates in the lab with the mannequins
Taking one hour at a time so you don't completely crumble from stress
Being at the very end of your rope, completely sick, sleep deprived and brain dead and still finding strength to move forward
Not being able to read/watch certain homework assignments in public for fear of being dismissed from school
Giving a standing ovation when someone scores a 65.6% on Kaplan
Knowing what it means to truly devote yourself to something
Not showering for 6 days
