Death by a Hawk. Are you serious!

Speaking of turning into Spiderman...

Strange things are happening in Boise. The animals are going crazy! This is how it happened today-

So there I was...

...minding my own business while I deadheaded and weeded the flowers. I finished the front yard so I went out onto the deck (where I got bit by a spider) and I was working on the pots out there. I was wearing a green shirt, the same color as some of the plants (this is important to the story). I was leaning over a giant flowerpot and had my hair in a ponytail. Now, I have short hair. When it's in a ponytail it looks like a little paint brush tip out of the back of my head. So anyway, I was leaned over this flowerpot and all the sudden I heard a thump and then a shriek of a big bird. It sounded like it was really close and so I looked up and A GIANT HAWK WAS FLYING AT ME AT ULTRA SPEED!!! I was absolutely terrified! His claws were out and he looked so hungry and angry! I screamed and ducked out of the way as he swooped past me and flew off into the mountains behind our house.

Ok, that's what happened. I know I'm a very small person, but seriously!?! I almost got carried away in the dead grab of a hawk!! I mean, really? How does that happen. I think I figured it out. I was wearing green, right? (See how this is important now!) Maybe my shirt blended in with the flowers so all the hawk saw was my little brown ponytail. He could have easily mistaken me for a mouse, or a bunny; perhaps even a small bird. I'm not quite sure what was going through his head or what his intentions were. Either way, I'm glad that I didn't get killed/mauled by a hawk today. That would have been a serious damper on my great day.

I've been bit by...

So there I was...

It was a dark and lonely night. Literally. It was approximately midnight and I couldn't sleep because I felt all alone. At this point in the night, I decided to get out of bed and look at the moon. I went and sat on the deck and tried to stare at the stars. I tried to stare at the stars because Boise is covered in smoke from the forest fires so I actually couldn't see anything, but I tried all the same. It was a crisp summer night that smelt faintly of fire and made my heart leap at the memories of camping.

That's when my great idea hit!

I immediately ran down the stairs and grabbed a pad, sleeping bag, pillow and my dog and set up camp on the deck. Oh it was lovely! I slept under the smoke hidden stars with my loyal dog by my side (and stealing the miniature pad we were on...). I definitely ended up on the wood while my dog slept on my pillow and pad. I'm not surprised, she always pushes you out of where you're sitting. She also thinks she is a lap dog and can fit in those small spaces. Well, she can't. I try to tell her but she doesn't listen. Anyways, I digress.

So after a wonderful, smoke-filled slumber I wake up feeling sick and as though my lungs were clogged. They definitely were as I spent the rest of the day coughing. I also woke up to something extraordinary! I had a swollen, red and itchy bump on my left arm, right by my elbow. It kept growing all day and I eventually found two little teeth holes in my arm. What could that be!? Oh, we all know. A SPIDER!! I hate spiders with my entire existence, but I'm kind of excited this time. It just keeps growing! I'm 93.45% sure that I was bit by a spider with powers that will turn me into Spiderman. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but just be prepared, ok?

Always Ready for an Adventure

I started a blog. I feel as though I am finally initiated into the real world. This is exciting and I think I need a certificate!
So I think my first post will be about the name of my blog. I love adventures! This last semester at BYU-Idaho was a very hard one that challenged me more than I thought possible. (I'm starting the Nursing Program so I'm sure it just gets even better from here!) I spent a lot of time studying and didn't have much time for fun. Luckily I had the most amazing roommates and friends that helped me relax and have fun. My roommate, Katie, was my adventure buddy. We determined that every day needed an adventure. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It made life so incredible! We had a full week of adventures that included...
jumping into a canal in the middle of a thunderstorm...

camping on a school night and leaving at 11 o'clock that night...
we later camped out in the playground behind some boys apartments...

repelling off our balcony with our bed sheets...
yes, one of the sheets ripped, was anyone harmed? We don't think so...

exploring Lava Hot Spring and finding a museum that was a complete gem and they gave us free chairs...

and watching a car explode.

Oh it was a great week! I learned that adventures are a release for me and help me learn to love life and live it to the fullest.

I hope my adventures are exciting for you to read about and that they inspire you to go out on your own adventures. If you do, you must...
#1: Invite me
OR
#2: Tell me ALL about it!
