Thursday...
I'm going on vacation to Busan, while on vacation to South Korea, while on vacation from Boise, while on vacation from Rexburg. Wow. I need to take a nap that's so exciting!
Today we all got on a "really fast bullet train" as Rock calls it. It goes up to 300 km/hr. It was Rock's dream come true! I don't think I've seen a happier kid. Luckily, both he and Cali fell asleep on the three hour ride to Busan, a city on the coast. Rock fell asleep in my lap; one of those tender moments I treasure as an aunt!
Our ride from Busan Station to our amazing hotel, Paradise Hotel, was terrifying. It reaffirmed all of the rules to driving I've come up with in Korea. We didn't care which side of the road we were on or what the speed limit on. And who even knows why red lights are there! They don't mean a thing. After thirty minutes of white knuckles and clenched teeth, we arrive at the hotel right on the beach. It was perfect! We changed and hurried down before dinnertime.

Is she not the cutest thing you've ever seen?! |
Someday she'll realize how much alike we are. I'm sure I have a baby picture just like this! |
Rock was a little weary of the water but LOVED the beach so much! |
We ate at Thursday Burgers, seeing as it was Thursday and they had some pretty dang good burgers! Busan is a lot more Americanized than Seoul, probably because of all the tourists. We sat out on a patio (you rarely see that in Seoul) and ate as the wind off the ocean rolled in and cooled things down. It was so nice! There were some Turkish guys next door making sticky ice cream. I hear it's a big thing in Jerusalem, so we tried some in preparation. It was delicious! Well, I just liked the chocolate, let's be honest. Rock is the slowest ice cream eater on the planet and his cone turned to mush before he ever finished.
Why yes my Thursday burger has an egg on it! Delicious! |
A bunch of little musicians set up shop along the boardwalk so we ate our ice cream as we listened. |
We've decided that Baby Cali makes the greatest faces ever! She's such a character! I just love her to pieces. She has so much attitude for only being one year old. Tiffany always tells me she thinks she had my children because I was just as ornery and opinionated as baby Cali. We are exactly the same. She throws fits for no reason and so did I. I swear she'll grow out of it by the time she leaves for college...I hope...
This is Cali saying CHEESE!! |
These kids are the greatest!!! |
We were too scared to tell this woman her outfit didn't match... |
Friday...
For our adventure on Friday we went to the aquarium in the morning and saw the shark feeding show. It was pretty cool. The sharks swam all around you in their tanks and divers were risking their lives to go in and feed them! Actually, it seemed pretty routine, but the intense music in the background and screaming Koreans gave it a nice effect.
That's a little unnerving.... |
Little Sas' a fras! |
After the aquarium, we were ready for some lunch so we went and got these incredible Turkish tacos from the Turkish guys. They were heavenly! I can't wait to eat the food in Jerusalem. Luckily, Rock and Cali are so cute that we got two free ice cream cones! Then it was nap time and pool time!
The kids climbed in and out of the pool to jump of the edge for hours! Never ending fun! |
That night we had to eat at this restaurant, mainly for the name. Luckily, the tacos were pretty good and Adam's burrito was divine. We ate on the boardwalk to hear the performers but of course, Cali and Rock stole the show and everyone took pictures of them and gave them money.
This boat said Tiffany on the side! |
After dinner, Adam went back to the hotel to put Cali down and Rock and Tuna Cali played soccer on the beach with beach balls. After we had sand in places we didn't even know existed, we took some pictures then went to bed.
Saturday...
This was our relax and swim day. We spent all morning at the beach and then after naps we went to the pools. When we got home that night, we were completely EXHAUSTED!!
Rock's Sand Castle vs. Mom's Sand Castle |
He's gunna be a heart breaker! |
We made ourselves a pretty great sandcastle! |
We love being sisters!!!!! |
Rock wanted to jump with us |
So then Cali wanted to as well. This was the closest we got to all being in the air! |
Just some Cali Time |
We got stuck in the spider's web! |
Rock was checking this girl out! Come on bud! |
I had to show him how it was done... |
Rock was giving me kisses on the cheek. Couldn't have asked for a better date! |
Sunday...
We had to say goodbye to this beautiful and fun city and head back home. We came back and Tiffany and I went to a Korean BBQ place we call the Orange Pumpkin. Mainly because they all wear orange pumpkin shirts. It was my favorite Korean BBQ we'd been to. I loved whatever was in the eggs. I couldn't get enough of them. The meat was delicious too, of course.
Trying to figure out what to order since it's all in Korean... |
We chose wisely! It was delicious! |
That white stuff is my favorite egg dish. If you know what it is, tell me! It's heaven! |
After dinner we had to drive to none other than Gangnam and do the dance because it just didn't feel right to be here in South Korea and not do that.
There were TV's everywhere!! It was so lit up! |
If you know Korean, we would love to know what this says. It's all over the buses here. |
I bet that bus says "call ghostbusters 365 days a year"
ReplyDeletehahaha!! That's exactly what Tiffany and I were saying!
